Your local venue for the very best in folk, roots and acoustic music
Our opening show of the Autumn season presents Christine Collister, who has consistently mesmerized and astounded with her unique blend of soul, blues, pop, jazz, country and folk, and today she remains as powerful, subtle and effortless as ever.
Children of the Sea - Christine has created a beautiful suite of new songs and performs them as part of an audio-visual show based on traditional stories from the Isle of Man. Retelling tales from the small island but speaking of ancient wisdom for the whole world, Children of the Sea, guides us on a magical journey filled with hope and love.

They are much loved by audiences up and down the country, with bookings everywhere from Cambridge Folk Festival to Cecil Sharp House and of course, Upwood Village Hall!

Bringing our Autumn season to a wintery end, Winter Wonderband features four of the most talented musicians on the UK folk scene: Saul Rose on melodeon & vocals (Faustus, War Horse, Eliza Carthy); Beth Porter on cello & vocals (Spell Songs, Bookshop Band); Jennifer Crook on harp, guitar & vocals (Snow Patrol, Broken Road); and Maclaine Colston on hammered dulcimer & vocals (Pressgang, Kings of Calicutt).
"This unusual combination of instruments give the band a unique and distinctive sound, unlike any band that I have heard before. The best description I can find for their spine-tingling sound is "chamber folk" The entire concert was a joy from start to finish.” FATEA MAGAZINE December 2023
